Paris general info

The most recognizable symbol of Paris is the Eiffel Tower which was built for the 1889 expo, as a temporary monument, but remained up until today, and was the tallest tower of the world until 1930! Being so close to the North Atlantic ocean, has a temperate climate, so rarely has very high or low temperatures, even if in recent years, thanks to the global warming, there have been very big heat waves (2003) or cold waves (2006).

Among the best monuments you can find in Paris, there's the Basilica of the Sacré Coeur, on top of the Montmartre hill. Montparnasse is an area on the left bank of the Seine, famous for artist studios, music halls, and café life. The most impressive place though are the Champs-Élysées, that connects la Concoder with the Arc de Triomphe.
